Third-country students normally need the applicable visa or temporary residence permit for study and should apply through the correct Slovenian diplomatic mission or administrative route. Admission, identity, address, insurance and sufficient-means evidence are central, but the exact documents and filing place depend on the case. A Schengen short-stay visa, a long-stay visa and a study residence permit are different instruments; confirm the correct route before travel.

Completed current application form for the relevant visa, residence permit or EU registration route.

Valid passport or national identity document and compliant photograph where required.

Official admission or enrolment evidence from a recognised Slovenian institution.

Proof of a valid address or accommodation arrangement where required.

Proof of sufficient means in the current accepted form.

Health-insurance evidence valid for the applicant's nationality and status.

Certified translations, legalisation or apostille where the authority requires them.

Route-specific fee payment and any additional criminal-record or civil-status evidence requested by the authority.
