Applying to Caucasus International University (CIU) is a sequence, not a single submission. CIU currently places the interview after departmental submission. The offer letter comes after the interview is completed, while application-fee confirmation appears later in the public sequence. A status update therefore describes one processing milestone; it should not be read as a final admission decision unless the portal explicitly says admission is complete.
What Admission Process Started means
Admission Process Started means the application has passed its first review and has moved into the admissions workflow. It is not an offer, an interview result or final enrolment. At this stage, check the portal and registered email address for a request to correct a document or provide further information.
If no action is requested, avoid re-uploading the same files. Repeated copies can make it harder to identify the current version. Keep personal and academic documents inside the secure application route rather than sending them to an unverified address.
What Application Submitted means at CIU
Application Submitted means the file has been forwarded to the relevant reviewing department and is under consideration. It does not mean that an offer has already been issued. The next public milestones are Interview Scheduled and Interview Completed, so applicants should watch for the confirmed interview details before making assumptions about timing.
Prepare for the interview using the instructions attached to the appointment. If the university asks for English-language evidence, use the method stated in the application request. The public starting requirements currently allow recognised English proof or a short English self-introduction video, but the reviewing team may request clarification.

The following order is synchronised from the current public CIU profile. A particular application can still require a correction or an additional check, so follow the status and instructions visible in your portal.
- Application form online. Complete the online application form and upload the required documents.
- Admission Process Started. Your application has passed the initial review, and the admission process has now started.
- Application Submitted. Your application has been successfully submitted to the relevant department for review and is now under consideration.
- Interview Scheduled. Your admission interview has been scheduled. Please review the interview details and prepare accordingly.
- Interview Completed. Your admission interview has been successfully completed, and your attendance has been recorded.
- Offer Letter Received. Congratulations. Your official offer letter for the selected programme has been issued. Please review the offer and complete the required action within the specified timeframe.
- Application Fee Paid. Your application processing fee has been successfully received and confirmed.
- Document Preparation. Your documents are currently being prepared for official submission to the relevant authority.
- Preparing Placement Letter. Your application progresses to the Preparing Placement Letter stage.
- Placement Letter Received. Your application progresses to the Placement Letter Received stage.
- Documents Submitted to Ministry of Education. Your translated and notarized documents have been officially submitted to the Ministry of Education through the National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement (NCEQE) for verification and approval.
- Ministry of Education Approval Received. Your academic documents have been approved by the Ministry of Education through the National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement (NCEQE).
- Admission Complete. Congratulations. Your admission for the selected programme has been confirmed.
How long does the CIU application process take?
The public Univs profile does not publish one guaranteed end-to-end duration for CIU. The total depends on document completeness, departmental review, interview scheduling, fee confirmation, preparation of the placement letter and external education-document procedures. Weekends, public holidays and requests for clearer documents can add time.
Treat every timing estimate in a message as an estimate for that stage, not a promised admission date. Apply with enough time for corrections and external processing, and do not book non-refundable travel solely because an early application status has changed.
Application fee and payment safety
The current CIU journey includes an Application Fee Paid milestone, but the public institute profile does not presently show an institute-specific application-fee amount. This guide therefore does not guess one. Confirm the amount, currency, recipient, included service and refund terms in the authenticated application flow before paying.
A receipt confirms a payment, not admission. Keep the receipt and compare the recipient details with the payment instruction in your portal. If any detail differs, ask for confirmation before transferring funds.
Documents to prepare
The public CIU profile currently lists these starting documents:
- Valid passport copy
- Recent passport-style photograph
- High school diploma or equivalent for undergraduate entry
- Bachelor's diploma and academic transcript for postgraduate entry
- English-language proof or a 2–3 minute English self-introduction video
- For applicants under 18: birth certificate
- parents' passport copies and parental consent / power of attorney
The exact list depends on study level and personal circumstances. Documents should be complete, readable and consistent. Applicants under 18 should pay particular attention to the additional identity and consent documents shown in the list.
What happens after the offer letter?
The offer letter is followed by application-fee confirmation and document preparation in the current public path. CIU then shows placement-letter preparation, receipt of the placement letter and submission of translated and notarised education documents for external verification. These stages are separate from the university interview and should not be collapsed into one “admission approved” label.
External education-document review is carried out through Georgia’s quality-assurance system. The National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement explains the relevant higher-education quality framework. A university offer, external document approval and any immigration decision are distinct matters.
