Students admitted to an approved institution can use Qatar's Education Residence Visa route. In practice, the university or educational sponsor normally guides or facilitates the application. Qatar University requires international applicants without a valid Qatar residence permit, excluding GCC citizens, to follow its student-visa or scholarship route within the published admission period.

Admission application summary: Qatar University asks for a screenshot of the completed online application summary page.

Valid passport: Qatar University asks for passport pages showing identity, date of birth and expiry, with at least one year of validity.

Financial sponsorship declaration: At Qatar University, the financial sponsor must be a third party; students may not sponsor themselves.

Sponsor identity: Copy of the financial sponsor's passport or Qatar ID.

Financial evidence: For a sponsor in Qatar, QU publishes a QAR 20,000 local bank guarantee requirement. For a sponsor outside Qatar, QU asks for six months of bank statements in English or Arabic showing stable capacity.

Health evaluation: A physician-signed and clinic/hospital-stamped QU health evaluation is required for applicants outside Qatar applying through QU.

Police clearance / good conduct: Certificate issued by the authorities in the student's country of residence.

Parent or guardian consent: Required by Qatar University for undergraduate applicants to enrol and receive residence sponsorship.

Student declaration: Complete the institution's student declaration form where required.

Additional documents: The university or reviewing authority may request further documents based on the applicant's situation.

The government portal lists the Education Residence Visa as free. Institution-specific residence-permit, medical, insurance, document, translation or service costs may still apply.
