Checked on 20 October 2026. Several universities list more than one application fee, depending on the programme or applicant group; the table shows the lowest. The exact amount for your programme appears on the programme page and in your account before payment.

What the application fee is, and is not

  • It is charged by the university to process your application. It is not tuition and is not a Univs fee.
  • It is charged once per university application, so applying to several universities means several fees.
  • Ask whether it is deducted from tuition or refundable if you are not admitted; this differs by university.

How we compared

The table uses the application fees that each university publishes on Univs.com, checked on 20 October 2026. Where a university lists several fees, for example different amounts for different faculties or applicant groups, we show the lowest. The exact fee for your programme is on its programme page and in your account before you pay. We only include universities that accept applications through Univs; programmes shown as listings only are handled by the university directly, with its own fees.

Planning your budget

If you apply to three universities, you may pay three application fees. For example, the University of Georgia, Alte University and Grigol Robakidze University together start from USD 720. Medicine and dentistry applicants often pay more, because Georgian Technical University and Tbilisi State Medical University list application fees from USD 1,000. Pay only through the invoice in your account or the university’s official channel, and keep the receipt. Remember that the application fee is separate from tuition: if you are admitted, tuition is invoiced by the university later, usually per year or per semester, and it is also shown in your account before you pay.

When the fee is due

The university decides when its application fee is due and whether it is refundable or deducted from tuition. The stage at which it is due is shown in your account, together with the amount, before you pay.

Checklist before you apply

  • Open the programme page and confirm the tuition, duration, teaching language and the next intake shown there today.
  • Read the Requirements section: minimum grades, age limits, language evidence and any nationalities or countries of residence that cannot apply.
  • Prepare clear scans of your passport, school-leaving certificate or previous degree with transcripts, and a recent photo.
  • Ask the university, through your application, whether its application fee is refundable or deducted from tuition.
  • Plan for recognition of your previous education by the Georgian authorities, which is a legal step for international students and takes time.
  • Keep every invoice and receipt, and pay only through the invoice in your account or the university’s own official channel.

What happens after you press Apply Now

  1. Application received. The admissions team checks your form against the programme requirements.
  2. Documents requested. If anything is missing or unclear, the checklist in your account shows exactly which file and why.
  3. Interview or test. Some programmes, for example medicine and dentistry, include an online interview or entrance test.
  4. Offer letter. The university accepts you. Any university application or registration fee is shown at this point if it applies.
  5. Recognition and enrolment. The Georgian authorities recognise your previous education, and the university issues the enrolment letter you use for your visa.

Comparing fees fairly

A low application fee does not make a programme cheaper overall. Compare the application fee together with yearly tuition, the length of the programme and living costs in the city. If two programmes suit you equally, the application fee can help you decide where to apply first, but tuition over the whole programme is usually the bigger number. Write down each fee, its currency and whether it is refundable, so you can compare your shortlist side by side before you pay anything to any university.

What you pay, and to whom

Univs charges students no agency, consultancy or service fee, because Univs is paid by the universities, not by students. Any application or registration fee set by the university is shown before you pay. Tuition is paid to the university. If you pay an invoice by card, any card processing fee is also shown before checkout. Living costs, insurance, visa and travel are separate and are not included in the tables above.
