The courses are arranged in a logical sequence and ensure the gradual development of knowledge.Along with dental disciplines, the program includes biomedical, preclinical, and clinical courses, ensuring the student's understanding of pathologies within the framework of a unified system of the organism. Integrated courses (anatomy-histology, immunology-microbiology, dental implantation) strengthen the interdisciplinary approach. The discipline combines scientific knowledge with modern clinical technologies—such as digital diagnostics, innovative biomaterials, and minimally invasive methods—to provide safe, effective, and patient-centered care.The dental education program prepares students through a structured and phased curriculum that integrates theoretical knowledge, laboratory practice, and supervised clinical work. The program is developed considering international standards of dental education, including the recommendations of the Association for Dental Education in Europe and the American Dental Education Association.Our program includes all the necessary components of a one-cycle dental education program, which gives graduates the opportunity to continue their studies in a residency program for the purpose of independent professional practice, or to continue their education at a higher level — doctoral studies (PhD program). The university is equipped with a multi-profile, high-tech dental simulation center, which ensures the development of students' practical skills.

The Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) program at Georgian International University is designed to provide students with the theoretical knowledge, practical skills, and clinical competencies required for the independent practice of dentistry in accordance with national regulations and international educational standards.The dental curriculum is structured through integrated theoretical and practical components that ensure the progressive development of professional knowledge, clinical reasoning, and technical competencies. The theoretical component encompasses the study of etiopathogenesis, clinical manifestations, diagnosis, prevention, and management of oral and dental diseases. It promotes critical analysis, synthesis of information, and the application of evidence-based dentistry in the assessment of clinical cases, formulation of differential and definitive diagnoses, and development of comprehensive patient-centered treatment plans.The practical component is designed to develop manual dexterity, pre-clinical competencies, and clinical skills required for safe and effective dental practice. Training is delivered through simulation-based learning, laboratory exercises, supervised clinical practice, and role-play activities that enhance communication, professionalism, and patient management skills. Clinical competence is developed through simulation-based training and supervised patient care in affiliated dental clinics.Elective courses allow students to expand their knowledge in areas such as Digital Dentistry, Dental Implantology, Esthetic Dentistry, Artificial Intelligence in Dentistry, and Practice Management. Overall, the curriculum prepares graduates to deliver safe, patient-centered, and evidence-based oral healthcare while fostering professional responsibility, research competence, and continuous professional development.
Learning Outcomes of the Program
Knowledge and Understanding Describes and explains biomedical processes in normal and pathological conditions of the human body, with particular emphasis on the oral cavity and head and neck region.
Describes the etiology, pathogenesis, clinical manifestations, prevention, diagnosis, and principles of treatment of oral and dental diseases and explains their relationship with systemic health.
Discusses the principles of evidence-based dentistry, research methodology, public and oral health, professional ethics, patient rights, and legal aspects of dental practice.
Skills Collects and interprets relevant patient information, performs clinical assessment, identifies and differentiates oral and dental diseases and conditions, and formulates appropriate diagnoses.
Develops comprehensive, evidence-based, and patient-centered prevention and treatment plans according to the patient’s individual needs and clinical condition.
Selects and safely applies appropriate diagnostic, preventive, therapeutic, surgical, and restorative approaches, dental materials, and modern technologies within the scope of professional competence.
